Interesting, wouldn't you say?

Every now and then I find out out something really interesting and suprising. Well, this happens nearly everyday, but this I wanted to share...the days of the week (Romanised):

Monday Woryoil = Moon
Tuesday Hwayoil = Fire
Wednesday Sooyoil = Water
Thursday Mogokoil= Trees
Friday Kumyoil= gold
Saturday T'yoil= land
Sunday iryoil= Sun

Notice that just like in the western calendar, Monday and Sunday refer to the Moon and Sun and respectively. Yet another suprising similarity. (The days of the week are taken from Chinese).

(Activities today: spoke to Rob on the phone, met up with Andi and Nicki, had my hair permed, wrote around 50 reports, studied Korean, shopped at the "everything W1,000" shop for Pot Porri, hair gel and bowls).

Today is the first day of March; a national holiday, the first day of spring, and the day before the first day of the academic year here in Korea. Mother Nature has stirred from her slumber, yawned, stretched and is radiant in her awakening. Her warm breath mischievously whispers in your ear, promising the hope of New Beginnings. This week is also the 6 month mark of my stay in Korea. In every sense, this is a transcendent turning-point, Isa to Jera, and a moment to be remembered.
